Stakeholder (WP2):
This element is commonly available in 3 countries, and easily accessible in 3 countries.  It is considered very effective in 4 countries and effective in 7 others.   

Employer (WP4):
Environmental adaptations services were used with the highest frequencies in Austria, the Netherlands, the UK and Denmark.  They do not seem to be used with any frequency in either Portugal or Romania.  This service was rated as being very helpful in 6 countries with Germany rated as being the most helpful. 

Research:
Empirical evidence seems to suggest that environmental adaptations enable a greater number of people with disabilities to enter the workforce e.g. Hahn, Harlan “Accommodations and the ADA: Unreasonable Bias or Biased Reasoning”.  The Journal of Employment and Labour Law (2000).

This element is based on a helpfulness rating scale between 0 and 4 where
0 = No Effect
1 = Slightly Helpful
2 = Moderately Helpful
3 = Very Helpful
4 = Extremely Helpful

In relation to workplace/environmental adaptations countries in which this element is considered to be moderately to very helpful are given a “light green” colour.  Those considered to be very to extremely helpful in encouraging people with disabilities to look for paid employment are given a dark green colour.  In this instance ratings between 2.8 and 3.3 inclusive are highlighted in a light green colour.  Ratings between 3.4 and 4 are highlighted in a dark green colour.
