Implications of the Employment Equality Act 1998
This link discusses the implications of this law that outlaws discrimination on seven new grounds, in addition to those of gender and marital status. Single parents, gay people, older workers and those with disabilities are among those who should see their access to jobs and promotion opportunities improve once the Act takes effect. The Act also defines sexual harassment for the first time in Irish law.
